As we continue our tour, a trip to the picturesque Dordogne area of France wouldn't be complete without a trip to Rocamadour. This medieval town is just one-hour east of Sarlat, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While technically just outside of La Dordogne, this amazing village clings to the cliff-side above the Alzou River. Its main street is lined with medieval buildings, and the 216 steps of the Grand Escalier must not be missed. Take your time and finds nice restaurants and shops, enjoy the nature, the history, and the many spectacular views from below, along-side, or above the cliffs.
